CLEVELAND, Ohio — Following the conclusion of the conference tournament, the North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) announced the season’s All-NCAC awards and a quartet of Kenyon College Owls were voted as all-conference honorees. Grace Lane, Maren Lawrence, Justine Cole, and Zady Hasse represented the Owls, marking the 23rd straight season that the Kenyon program has placed at least four players on All-NCAC teams.
Lane led the way for Kenyon, earning a spot on the All-NCAC First Team. Lawrence secured a second-team spot, while both Cole and Hasse tallied third-team honors. Cole, Lane, and Lawrence had each made their way onto the all-conference ledger at least once before, while Hasse, a first-year, hauled in her first award.
Lane, last season’s NCAC Offensive Player of the Year, landed a second straight first-team selection. The senior was the conference’s only player making her fourth appearance on the All-NCAC squad after earning an honorable mention in 2021 and a second-team selection in 2022, and she is Kenyon’s first four-time All-NCAC honoree since a trio of Kenyon players earned their fourth all-conference awards in 2017. Lane led the Owls with 14 goals and tied for the team-high with four assists. Amongst NCAC players, the forward’s 2.00 points and .875 goals per game paced the conference, and she ranked second in total points (32) and total goals.
Lawrence was not far behind in offensive output, scoring 12 goals and serving up two assists over a strong sophomore season. The forward followed up a first-year campaign that culminated with a Third Team All-NCAC selection by jumping up to the second team. Her dozen goals were the third-best mark in the conference, and she ranked fourth in total points with 26.
Cole and Hasse each added points over the season, but the duo did their damage on both sides of the ball while manning the midfield. Cole, a senior, corralled her second straight All-NCAC award after being selected to the second team a season ago. This year, Cole started all 16 of Kenyon’s games, chipping in a goal and an assist, the first offensive outputs of her career. Hasse appeared in all 16 games, making 11 starts and dishing out an assist.
Overall, the quartet helped the Owls finish the season with a 10-6 record that included a 6-4 mark in NCAC contests. It was the fifth straight season that Kenyon has posted a double-digit win total. As a team, the Owls were tied for the second-best offense in the league at 2.50 goals per game.
