Sixteen Kenyon men earn CSCAA’s academic award

RICHMOND, Va. — The College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) announced recently its list of 2021-22 Scholar All-American Team award winners. On the list were 16 members of the Kenyon College men’s swimming and diving team.

First team Scholar All-America awards went to swimmers and divers who achieved a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.50 and who qualified for the NCAA Championship. Ten of the 16 Kenyon student-athletes listed made that first-team cut. They included Drew Albrecht, Joe Black, Daniel Brooks, Mason Fishell, David Fitch, Bryan Fitzgerald, Noah Hargrove, Marcus Hong, Spencer Pruett and Luis Weekes.

CSCAA second team awards went to student-athletes who achieved the same 3.50 grade point average or better and who reached a “B” time standard or competed at an NCAA Regional or Zone Diving qualifier. Those Kenyon honorees included Aidan Clarkson, Ben Czech, Nicholas Hong, Mart Niehoff, Liam Sweeney and Cam Williston.

Factoring in previous years, Pruett is now a three-time winner of the CSCAA’s academic award, while Albrecht, Fishell, Fitch, Fitzgerald, both Marcus and Nicholas Hong, Weekes and Czech are now two-time winners.
