WQIO Ohio's Super Station
Work is set to begin on Tuesday, July 8 for a project on U.S. 42 between U.S. 33 in Union County and SR 745 in Delaware County. The project will be rebuilding and widening the road shoulders, as well as resurfacing the route.
- U.S. 42 southbound between SR 745 and U.S. 33 will close starting Tuesday, July 8 for this work.
- Detour: SR 257 to U.S. 36 to U.S. 33 to U.S. 42
U.S. 42 Northbound traffic will be maintained throughout the project. The project has an interim completion date in Fall 2025 to have both directions of U.S. 42 open over the winter. This will be a multi-season project, expected to complete by Fall 2026.
A second project that will make improvements to the intersection of U.S. 42 and Industrial Parkway is also expected to begin in July, though a start date for this work has not yet been scheduled. Both project teams will be coordinating closely to help minimize impacts to motorists as much as possible.
