WQIO Ohio's Super Station
The Mansfield Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol responded to a two-vehicle serious injury crash on State Route 314, near Stine Road, in Sharon Township, Richland County. The incident occurred on September 25, 2025, at 7:51 AM.
A juvenile driver, age 16, of Lexington, Ohio was operating a 2010 Honda Civic northbound on SR 314. Gregory Ditmars, age 62, of Shelby, Ohio was operating a 2014 Dodge Ram 1500 pick-up southbound on State Route 314. The juvenile driver lost control in a curve and went left of center striking Mr. Ditmars.
Mr. Ditmars suffered minor injuries in the crash. The juvenile driver was transported by Shelby EMS to Ohio Health Mansfield with serious injuries. Drugs and alcohol are not suspected to be a factor in the crash. The crash remains under investigation. The Mansfield Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol were assisted on the scene by Shelby Fire and EMS, Ronks Towing and Auer Towing.
