Residents to Vote on Changes to City Charter

On the ballot in November will be recommendations from the 2024 Charter Review Commission. Pursuant to the Delaware City Charter – our city constitution – a Charter Review Commission is convened every eight years to review the Charter and make recommendations to be submitted to the voters; 2024 is a Charter review year. A Commission was appointed earlier this year and reviewed the Charter over the course of 10 weeks.

The Commission recommendations include 18 changes to the current Charter, which fall into three categories: substantive, clarification, and style/cleanup.

At this link www.delawareohio.net/charterchanges you can read in detail about the proposed amendments.

Election Day is November 5. Polls are open from 6:30 am to 7:30 pm. Residents can register to vote and apply for an absentee ballot.
