Ohio, January 2025 — As winter weather continues to cause havoc on Ohio roads, drivers whose vehicles suffer damage from potholes may be eligible for reimbursement.
The Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) encourages motorists to report vehicle damage caused by potholes on interstates, federal, or state routes via their website. Once a report is filed, ODOT will inform the driver about the appropriate entity to contact to proceed with a claim.
Each claim will undergo an investigation, and the final decision on reimbursement will be made by the Ohio Court of Claims.
This initiative offers some relief to drivers during the harsh winter months, potentially covering repair costs for damages inflicted by unavoidable road conditions.
For more information or to file a damage report, visit ODOT’s website.
