Mansfield Man Killed in Madison Township Motorcycle Crash

A 27-year-old Mansfield man was killed Tuesday night after the motorcycle he was riding crashed in Madison Township.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol identified the victim as Wesley Perdue, 27, of Mansfield.

The crash happened at approximately 11:27 p.m. Tuesday, August 25, on South Trimble Road near West Cook Road.

According to the Patrol’s preliminary investigation, Perdue was riding a 2009 Harley-Davidson Ultra Classic southbound on South Trimble Road when the motorcycle traveled off the right side of the roadway while negotiating a curve.

The motorcycle struck a sign, and Perdue was pronounced dead at the scene.

Several local agencies responded, including the Mansfield Police Department, Richland County Sheriff’s Office, Mansfield Fire Department, Madison Fire Department, Mansfield Street Department, Morrow County Sheriff’s Office and Ronk’s Towing.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol’s investigation remains ongoing. Authorities have not released additional information about what may have contributed to the crash.
