The Licking County Health Department (LCHD) loves nature and hates trash! Support the Licking County River Round Up event on Saturday, September 7.River Round Up is an annual river clean-up that brings out hundreds of volunteers who pull tires, shopping carts, and mountains of trash from 30 miles of rivers and streams. Through this amazing community-based conservation effort, a river system that had all but been abandoned has seen a beautiful rebirth of aquatic and bird life. Register as a volunteer today! Improve your community while getting wet and a little dirty. Volunteer for the county-wide river clean up and pick up trash, tires, and anything else thrown in the Licking River. (A piano, shopping carts, cars, and road signs, have all been found in previous years.) There are multiple sites across the county so you can volunteer closest to home!
