LICKING COUNTY, OHIO – A 27-year-old man from Licking County has been sentenced to nearly 24 and a half years in federal prison for possession of child sexual abuse material and plotting acts of pedophilia.
David Hamilton pleaded guilty in August to charges stemming from a disturbing investigation that uncovered thousands of videos and images on his electronic devices. According to court documents, Hamilton had also communicated plans to drug and sexually abuse a six-year-old boy he intended to babysit.
Authorities say Hamilton detailed his intentions in conversations with a co-defendant. His sentence, totaling 293 months behind bars, reflects the severity of the crimes and the danger posed by his actions.
The case was prosecuted as part of ongoing efforts by federal and local law enforcement to combat crimes against children.
