Mount Gilead -The Mount Gilead Post is investigating a fatal traffic crash that occurred on Sunday, November 17, 2024 at 03:52 AM, on State Route 95 near milepost 14 in
Franklin Township, Morrow County. Abdul Mohammed, age 29, was operating a 2013 Nissan Altima westbound on State Route95 with two passengers, Sandeep Yadav, age 27 and Mahammad Ahmad, age 31. Isaac Patrick Dela Cruz, age 19, was operating a 2024 Honda Civic eastbound on State Route95. Mr. Mohammed traveled left of center and struck Mr. Dela Cruz head-on. Mr. Mohammed was transported from the scene by EMS to Marion General Hospital with minor injuries. Mr. Yadav was pronounced deceased at the scene by medical personnel. Mr. Ahmad sustained serious injuries and was transported from the scene by EMS to OhioHealth Mansfield. Mr. Dela Cruz sustained minor injuries and was transported from the scene by EMS to Morrow County Hospital. Mr. Ahmad was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash. All other occupants in the crash were wearing their seatbelts. The Ohio State Highway Patrol was assisted at the scene by Morrow County Sheriff’s
Office, Morrow County EMS, Mount Gilead Fire Department, Ohio Department of
Transportation, and Morrow County Coroner’s Office. Alcohol is a suspected factor in this crash. The crash remains under investigation by TheOhio State Highway Patrol
