February 12, 2025 – Today Delaware County Common Pleas Court Judge James P. Schuck sentenced Steven M. Vicario, a 41-year-old Delaware man, to 25-30.5 years in prison for Rape, Sexual Battery, and Tampering with Evidence. Vicario has also been classified as a Tier III Sex Offender.
Vicario was found guilty by a Delaware County Jury of two counts of Rape (felonies of the first degree), two counts of Sexual Battery (felonies of the third degree), and one count of Tampering with Evidence (a felony of the third degree).
“This just the beginning for this survivor. Now that justice has been served, the healing can begin.” Prosecutor Melissa Schiffel said. “If you are a victim of sexual abuse, you are not alone. We stand ready to help with our law enforcement partners.”
This case was investigated by Delaware City Police and prosecuted by Special Victims Prosecutor Sayje Brown and Assistant Prosecutor Chelsey Capezzuti.
