Wednesday Judge David Gormley sentenced 28-year-old Darius Wynn to life in prison with parole eligibility after 40 years for murder, aggravated robbery, and engaging in a pattern of corrupt activity. Judge Gormley found the crimes were so egregious that consecutive sentences were warranted.
Wynn was identified by Columbus Police as a perpetrator in a string of robberies at multiple Auto Zones and other businesses during the summer of 2023 in Franklin and Delaware Counties. Alejandro Fajardo-Torres was shot and killed during one of the robbery attempts at an Auto Zone in Delaware County and another victim was shot and paralyzed while leaving his place of business on the northeast side of Columbus.
“August 24, 2024, marked one year that the family of Alejandro Fajardo-Torres has had to live without his bright light, love and support.” Prosecutor Melissa Schiffel said. “Darius Wynn planned these robberies and drove his accomplices to the scenes where these heinous crimes were committed, and his choices and actions landed him a life sentence.”
