AAA Invites Community to ‘Step Up for Hunger’

COLUMBUS, Ohio (August 14, 2024) – AAA is inviting Members and customers to join its annual ‘Stepping Up for Hunger’ campaign by stepping into any AAA Retail location to drop off canned goods or make a monetary donation.

According to Feeding America, food insecurity continues to be a major concern across the nation, affecting 1 in 10 Americans. Providing support in our local communities is a priority for AAA.

“As an organization, we are committed to making a positive impact in our communities,” said Amber Zionkowski, Manager, Corporate Social Responsibility for AAA Club Alliance. “Addressing food insecurity is one way to provide help where it is needed most.”

AAA Club Alliance is the third largest AAA Club in the country, serving more than seven million Members in 13 states, and the District of Columbia, including here in Ohio.

Donations will be accepted at select AAA locations through Sunday, Sept. 8.

All canned food donations will support local food banks. Donations of oatmeal, cereal, tuna (or other canned meats in water), peanut butter, canned fruits, canned vegetables, rice, and pasta are highly encouraged.

In addition to support from our Members, AAA employees have once again set out to walk, jog, or run 56 million steps from Aug. 12-25. When we reach this goal, the organization will donate 200,000 meals to local food banks through Feeding America.

In addition to walking the walk, AAA employees are also volunteering their time at local food banks. Columbus-area associates will volunteer at the Mid-Ohio Food Collective.
