Visit the castle this holiday season as we bring back our annual Kingdom of Lights! Join us nightly at dusk for this magical journey. Stroll the property, see the castle decked out with over 100,000 lights, take pictures with our outdoor Christmas trees, listen to Holiday music playing throughout the property, have dinner in our restaurant (see below for details). Even Saint Nick himself will visiting on Friday and Saturday nights 6PM-8PM through 12/28.

The castle property is a hotel, event venue and restaurant. This is an outdoor walking event. The event will end at 10PM to respect the quite time of our hotel guests. It is handicap accessible but is on hilly paved terrain. This event in years past has been very busy, please be patient when arriving and parking. Our parking staff will do their best to get you parked in a timely fashion. The castle is made up of 11 hotel suites, there is a public observation tower and lobby with small gift area.
*Friendly leashed dogs are welcome in the outdoor areas.

Enjoy the festive lights at Columbus Commons from November 22 through January 5, EVERY DAY from dusk until to 11 pm. Stop by after a Downtown dinner to see more than 400,000 LED lights dazzle in the park, thanks to our wonderful partnership with the AEP Foundation.

To sweeten the deal, Fridays from 5pm to 8pm in December will be a little extra festive, with free hot chocolate and carousel rides. Plus, you’ll hear the music of the season with musicians roaming around the park. You can find that extra bit of holiday cheer on these dates:

Uptown Merchants are please to present our annual ice sculpture tour starting Friday December 20th until they melt!

Each block in Uptown features holiday themed ice sculptures during this last weekend before Christmas.

Bring your family and guests to Uptown to show off our beautiful area and to celebrate the holidays the “old fashion” way!

Throughout the park

The community is invited to come together at Ariel-Foundation Park on Friday, Dec. 20, from 5:30-7 p.m. for “Candles & Carols,” a free holiday event featuring a walk-through luminary display and local choral groups singing and leading Christmas carols. This year’s event is dedicated to the memory of Mrs. Ann Schnormeier.

Guests should plant to park at the Urton Clock House lot off of Pittsburgh Avenue with overflow parking at the Schnormeier Event Center. The Heritage Singers and Apple Valley Singers will present seasonal music and lead guests in caroling inside the Community Foundation Pavilion. A luminary display will be featured along the sidewalks and in the Tree of Life Labyrinth. Restrooms and refreshments will be available at the Urton Clock House.

Event sponsors include Ted Schnormeier, Kim and Pam Rose, Knox County Kayakers, Psi Iota Xi, Coleman Family Gallery and Gallery Suite, Lanning’s Foods, Tim Hortons and Williams Flower Shop.

A Christmas Story, The Musical

From the songwriting team behind the smash-hit Tony Award-winning musical Dear Evan Hansen and the Academy Award-winning film La La Land, A Christmas Story, The Musical, brings the classic 1983 movie to hilarious life on stage! The musical chronicles young and bespectacled Ralphie Parker as he schemes his way toward the holiday gift of his dreams, an official Red Ryder Carbine-Action 200-Shot Range Model Air Rifle. An infamous leg lamp, outrageous pink bunny pajamas, a maniacal department store Santa, and a triple-dog-dare to lick a freezing flagpole are just a few of the distractions that stand between Ralphie and his Christmas wish.
