The 16th Annual Break the Cycle is a community ride/walk event honoring recovery and remembering lives lost to addiction, held August 29, 2026, at Wayne County Fairgrounds in Wooster, OH, and the Holmes County Trail in Millersburg, OH

Event Overview

Organized by OneEighty, Inc., this annual event invites participants to ride or walk to raise awareness, reduce stigma, and support recovery services. It honors individuals on their recovery journey and pays tribute to loved ones lost to addiction

Dates & Times

  • Saturday, August 29, 2026
  • Start times:
    • 72-mile & 50-mile bike rides (Wooster): 7:30 a.m.
    • Holmes County Trail bike ride (Millersburg): 8:00 a.m.
    • 24-mile bike ride (Wooster): 8:30 a.m.
    • 5K walks (Wooster & Millersburg): 9:00 a.m. 

Routes & Activities

  • Bike rides: 24-, 50-, or 72-mile scenic rides through Wayne & Holmes counties (varying elevation/fitness levels).
  • Holmes County Trail: 19-mile flat/gently sloping asphalt trail, first in the U.S. to accommodate Amish buggies; SAG cyclist support available
  • 5K walks: Downtown Wooster or Holmes County Trail; visit OneEighty’s Main Office and Recovery Club
  • Children 12 & under: Walk 5K or ride trail for free

Registration & Cost

  • Pre-registration: $40 (must register by Aug 6 to get a free soft cotton T-shirt; closes noon Aug 28).
  • Day-of registration: $50
  • Registration available via the official OneEighty site.

Food & Support

  • Hot meals provided on the day of the event:
    • Wooster: Buckeye Deli pulled pork, beef hot dogs, vegetarian sloppy joes, baked beans, mac & cheese, KFC, cole slaw, fry pie.
    • Holmes County Trail: McDonald’s breakfast sandwiches, Janelle’s yogurt parfait
  • Ride support: SAG cyclists, rest stops, restrooms, refreshments.
  • Bike maintenance: RIDE ON on-site at fairgrounds

Purpose & Impact

The event supports OneEighty’s mission to help individuals change direction from trauma and addiction, while promoting hope and healing in the community. Donations made in honor or memory of someone in recovery or lost to addiction help keep their stories alive.

Tip: If you plan to participate, register early for the T-shirt and pre-arrange any special needs (e.g., bike support, dietary accommodations).
