A Mount Vernon man is facing multiple felony charges following an investigation into the alleged trafficking of drugs and the conveyance of illegal substances into the Knox County Jail.
According to Knox County court records, Trenton Flack has been charged with multiple felony offenses, including trafficking in drugs, illegal conveyance of drugs of abuse into a detention facility, tampering with evidence, and having weapons while under disability.
The charges stem from an investigation by local authorities into allegations that drugs were brought into the Knox County Jail while Flack was incarcerated.
Among the charges are two counts of tampering with evidence, two counts of drug trafficking, one count of illegal conveyance of drugs of abuse into a detention facility, and one count of having weapons while under disability.
The illegal conveyance charge alleges that drugs were brought into the jail in violation of Ohio law, while the trafficking charges allege the sale or attempted sale of a controlled substance or controlled substance analog. Court records also allege Flack attempted to alter, conceal or remove evidence during the investigation.
The case will proceed through the Knox County Common Pleas Court, where prosecutors will present evidence supporting the charges.
No trial date has been announced.
As with all criminal cases, the charges are allegations, and Trenton Flack is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
