Owls maintain hold on second place at NCAC

GRANVILLE, Ohio — Junior Djordje Dragojlovic nailed down Kenyon College’s first event title of the 2025 North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) Men’s Swimming & Diving Championship during Thursday’s session of the four-day meet at Denison University. His win helped keep the Owls in second place in the team standings.

Dragojlovic claimed his title in the 50-yard freestyle with a winning time of 19.99. It was a season best and his first conference title in the event, after winning the 100-yard freestyle in each of the last two championship meets. In the same race, teammate and sophomore Peter Dunson, claimed fourth place, hitting the wall at 20.39, which was not only a season-best, but a personal record.

Prior to the Kenyon win, the first event of the night, the 500-yard freestyle, was held. The Owls’ top finisher was junior Teo Jaworski. He tallied 29 team points with a fourth-place finish in a personal-best time of 4:30.29. Right behind him was first-year Charlie Green, who took fifth in 4:31.02 and sophomore Roman Savage, who claimed sixth place in 4:32.97.

Next up was the 200-yard individual medley. Denison swimmers claimed the top four spots in the event and increased their lead in the team standings by 92 points over Kenyon. The Owls’ fastest swimmer was junior Kirill Sidorko, who clocked in at 1:49.36 to take fifth place. In sixth place, it was classmate Ethan Manske, who finished in 1:49.61.

Action then shifted to the diving well, where Kenyon first-year James Lackner turned in a fourth-place finish. As the lone Kenyon participant in the one-meter event, he earned a final score of 381.30.

Back between the lanes, the second-day session finished up with the 400-yard medley relay. Kenyon’s quartet in that event consisted of Green, Noel Tumbasz, Savage, and Dragojlovic. They completed the race in 3:13.65 for the runner-up spot.

At the end of the night, host Denison had 716 points, tightening its grip on the top spot in the standings. Kenyon was second with 565 points and Wabash College, which had 416 points, was third in the nine-time field.
