The Works Hosts Dozers & Diggers Event July 13 

The Works: Ohio Center for History, Art & Technology will host Dozers & Diggers, a free community event, on July 13, 2024, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.  Community members of all ages are invited to get an up-close view of big machines including forklifts, police cruisers, fire trucks, construction vehicles, and more. 

Children and families will get the opportunity to jump in, climb around, and speak to the professionals who operate the equipment every day. The event includes food trucks, live demonstrations & family activities. A sensory friendly hour will take place from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. with reduced horns, sirens, and loud noises. 

Outdoor exploration of Dozers & Diggers is completely free and open to the public. All guests are required to visit the check-in tent and receive a wristband for event access. Admission to the museum & indoor activities are available at a special event rate of $7 per person, members free. No other discounts or library memberships are applicable during this one-time special admission rate.

Parking for the event will be available in the 2nd Street Parking Garage and surrounding Downtown Newark parking. First Street will be closed for the event.
