Still Time to Enroll this Fall at COTC

With five start dates every year at Central Ohio Technical College (COTC), there’s still time to go ahead with your goals. Register now for COTC’s accelerated term that begins Oct. 17.

The popular accelerated class format allows students to earn the same college credit as full-semester (16-week) courses in half the time (approximately eight weeks).

Why take accelerated classes?

COTC’s accelerated classes help students start or advance in their degree or certificate immediately — even if they didn’t enroll in August. Students with family or job responsibilities appreciate the shorter time frame and find that accelerated classes help them better fit college into their busy lives. Students returning to college after a long absence can test out college courses without a full-semester commitment.

General education classes advance your goals

COTC offers a broad range of accelerated general education classes, including business, English, psychology, sociology, speech and math, which can count toward an associate degree at COTC or transfer to any public college or university in the state of Ohio. Courses are offered in multiple delivery methods.

Intel and the workforce of the future

It’s not too late to start your engineering technology degree or certificate this October. While earning an associate degree does not guarantee employment, COTC’s electrical engineering technology degree positions individuals extremely well for roles at Intel and many other manufacturing firms. COTC is offering three introductory engineering courses in person beginning Oct. 17 at the Newark campus:

ENGR-101 Introduction to Engineering Technology: Mondays and Wednesdays, 4-5:50 p.m.

ENGR-106 Computer Applications for Engineering Technicians: Tuesdays and Thursdays, 3-5:50 p.m.

ENGR-110 Engineering Graphics with AutoCAD: Mondays and Wednesdays, 6-8:50 p.m. and Tuesdays and Thursdays, 6-7:50 p.m.

New students must complete COTC’s free application for admission by Oct. 10.

COTC offers five start dates annually: two 16-week traditional semesters beginning in August and January, a 12-week summer semester starting in May, and two 8-week accelerated terms beginning in October and March.

Both full semester and accelerated classes are eligible for financial aid.

COTC is a fully accredited, public college dedicated to providing high-quality, accessible programs of technical education in response to current and emerging employment needs. COTC is the only technical college in Ohio operating four full-service campus locations: Newark, Coshocton, Knox and Pataskala.
