Olentangy Orange High School Principal Placed on Leave Amid Investigation

Central Ohio – Olentangy Orange High School Principal Monica Asher has been placed on paid administrative leave while the district conducts an investigation into comments she made about the 2024 election.

According to the district, the inquiry stems from a newsletter Asher sent to staff in which she expressed uncertainty about “how to move forward” after the election results. While details about the investigation remain limited, the district has confirmed it is ongoing.

Assistant Principal Ellie Ellis has assumed the role of interim principal during Asher’s absence.

In a statement, the district reiterated its commitment to maintaining a professional and inclusive environment for all staff and students but declined to provide further specifics regarding the investigation or the timeline for its conclusion.

This situation comes at a time of heightened political sensitivity in educational institutions, where leaders are often expected to navigate complex issues with neutrality.

WBNS-TV first reported on the story, noting that the investigation has sparked discussion among community members about the intersection of politics and education.

Further updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
