Mount Vernon Nazarene University is inviting members of the public to provide feedback as its Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) program prepares for a national accreditation review later this year.
The university announced the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) will conduct an on-site evaluation of the program Sept. 16-18, 2026, as part of the organization’s accreditation process.
CCNE accreditation is a voluntary, peer-review process that evaluates the quality and effectiveness of nursing education programs and helps ensure they meet nationally recognized standards.
As part of the review, the commission requires colleges and universities to provide an opportunity for program constituents and members of the public to submit third-party comments before the site visit.
The university says comments should focus specifically on the DNP program’s compliance with CCNE accreditation standards.
Healthcare partners, alumni, current students, faculty, employers and other interested community members are encouraged to participate in the process by submitting written comments directly to the Commission.
Comments must be submitted by Wednesday, Aug. 26, via email to thirdpartycomments@ccneaccreditation.org.
The accreditation site visit is scheduled for Sept. 16 through Sept. 18.
The Doctor of Nursing Practice program prepares advanced practice nurses for leadership roles in healthcare, emphasizing evidence-based practice, quality improvement and patient outcomes.
Additional information about the accreditation process is available through the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education.
