Licking County Sheriff’s Office investigating Two Deaths at Lost Lands Music Festival

The Licking County Sheriff’s Office is investigating two separate deaths that occurred over the weekend during the Lost Lands Music Festival in Thornville, Ohio.

According to authorities, the first incident took place on Saturday when 31-year-old James Phromphanh collapsed while dancing near the festival stage. He was taken to a nearby hospital but later died. In a second, unrelated incident, a man from Florida was found dead as festival-goers were packing up to leave. Officials say the man had fallen earlier and was later pronounced dead.

While both deaths remain under investigation, authorities confirmed they are not connected to a separate crash that occurred at the event.

Early Sunday morning, 24-year-old Noah Curtis allegedly drove a pickup truck into several tents at the festival. According to court documents, Curtis admitted to being under the influence of LSD at the time. One person was injured in the crash and taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Curtis has since been charged with felonious assault.

The festival organizers have not yet commented on the incidents.

This investigation remains ongoing.
