| COLUMBUS, OH — This week, the Franklin County Commissioners announced the recipients of the Community Partnerships Grant, which provides vital resources to nonprofit organizations working to reduce poverty and improve the quality of life for residents across the county. This year, 22 organizations are receiving a total of $3 million in funding through the county’s General Revenue Fund. Grants will support programs from July 1, 2025, through June 30, 2026, with the option to renew for up to three years, providing stability and enabling growth for organizations serving families throughout Franklin County. The Community Partnerships program was established to strengthen Franklin County’s nonprofit sector by investing in programming that aligns directly with the commissioners’ core principles and Rise Together Blueprint, the county’s roadmap for addressing poverty through equity-driven strategies and community collaboration. The grants are awarded through a competitive process to local organizations delivering services that effectively advance these principles and Blueprint goals. “Our Community Partnerships Grant program is a strategic investment in the strength and well-being of Franklin County families,” said Board President Erica C. Crawley. “By partnering with a diverse range of organizations including many receiving county support for the first time we’re deepening our community connections and ensuring resources are directed where they will make the greatest impact.”Since its inception, the Community Partnerships program has directed millions of dollars into local nonprofits, strengthening the social safety net and supporting innovative solutions to poverty. This year’s awardees join a growing network of partners working alongside the Commissioners to make Franklin County a place where every resident has the chance not just to survive, but to thrive.“Investing in the community is crucial to the work outlined in the Poverty Blueprint,” said Commissioner John O’Grady. “Each organization brings expertise and a deep connection to the residents it serves. By investing in these trusted partners, we are building a stronger network of support that advances equity and opportunity across Franklin County.”Notably, several of this year’s awardees are receiving funding from Franklin County for the very first time. For these organizations, the three-year grant provides a transformative opportunity to expand their reach, strengthen capacity, and build sustainable programming that will have lasting impacts in the community.“For some organizations, this is their first time receiving county support, and these multi-year grants will be truly transformative,” said Commissioner Kevin L. Boyce. “By fostering new partnerships and reinforcing existing ones, we are creating opportunities that will have a lasting impact for residents today and well into the future.”To learn more about the commissioners’ Community Partnerships program, please visit their site here.
