COTC Hosts Application Event at Knox Campus

You don’t have to complete your college admission and financial aid application alone. Central Ohio Technical College (COTC) is hosting an application event to help students submit the free COTC application for admission and the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) on Wednesday, Nov. 2 from 4–7 p.m. at the Knox campus. Students and their family members are welcome to drop in at any time during the three-hour event.

COTC admissions representatives and student financial services representatives will be available to assist students as they complete their admission application and FAFSA in our Knox campus computer lab. In addition, a financial aid information session will be offered at 4 p.m., 5 p.m. and 6 p.m.

Registration is encouraged. Please register at For additional information, contact the COTC admissions office at 740.392.2526 or

COTC’s Knox campus is located at 236 S. Main St. in Mount Vernon.

Free College Program Available for Knox County Residents

Knox County residents may attend COTC for free. The COTC Promise guarantees to fund the gap between tuition (instructional and general fees) and remaining student need after all other private scholarships and institutional, federal and state aid are exhausted. Under the program, all tuition will be covered for students annually reporting a household income of $60,000 or less on the FAFSA.

The COTC Promise programs are open to new, current or returning COTC students who do not already hold a bachelor’s or associate degree and can be used for classes at any COTC campus. Eligible students must be current Knox County residents who have lived in the county for at least one year. See for more details.

Degrees and Certificates at the Knox Campus

COTC offers some career-ready associate degrees and certificates and transfer associate degrees in full at the Knox campus through a combination of in-person and remote learning. Programs are offered in a variety of subject areas, including accounting, engineering technology, healthcare and social work. Start dates vary by program. See for more information.

Students may start any of COTC’s degrees and certificates at the Knox campus and finish in Newark. Individual general education courses for COTC’s 50+ programs or transfer-friendly credit to other state colleges and universities are also available.
