Women’s Volleyball Has Six Earn All-League Honors, Galaszewski Named Assistant Coach of the Year 

JACKSON, Mich. – The Mount Vernon Nazarene University women’s volleyball team has six players and a coach that received honors from the Crossroads League on Monday, November 17. 

Evelyn Brown, a freshman middle hitter from Canal Winchester, Ohio, had an outstanding debut season as a Lady Cougar. She earned First Team honors and was named the Crossroads League Freshman of the Year. Brown put up impressive numbers in her first year, recording 315 kills, averaging 2.69 kills per set, and posting a .413 hit percentage. Not only was she a dominant offensive presence for the Lady Cougars, but she also contributed significantly on defense, ranking second on the team with 77 total blocks for the season. 

Senior Reagan Nuss, an exceptional setter from Brownstown, Indiana for the Lady Cougars, has earned First Team honors in her final season. Nuss has recorded an impressive 1,125 assists this year, averaging 9.7 assists per set. In addition to her playmaking, she contributed 319 digs (2.75 per set) and 72 kills, showcasing her all-around impact on the court. 

Senior Faith Maloney has had an outstanding final season and earned First Team honors from the Crossroads League. As a right-side hitter, Maloney led the team with 325 kills, posting a .240 hit percentage and averaging 2.91 kills per set. On the defensive side, the South Webster, Ohio native contributed 58 total blocks and 170 digs. 

Senior Libero, Jaelyn Tang from Mililani, Hawaii, is capping off an impressive career with the Lady Cougars by earning Second Team honors. Tang is a standout on the backline, recording 533 digs (4.56 per set) this season and currenly has 1,740 digs in her MVNU career. She also set a personal best with 123 assists so far during her senior year.  

Libby Evanshine, a junior outside hitter from New Vienna, Ohio, is set to receive Second Team honors for her outstanding performance this season as a Lady Cougar. Evanshine recorded 339 kills (2.90 per set) with a .194 hit percentage. She also contributed on defense, totaling 51 blocks and 117 digs over the course of the season. 

Morgan Schlabach, a freshman outside hitter from Sugarcreek, Ohio, earned a spot on the All-Freshmen Team after an impressive season. She recorded 183 kills, averaging 1.65 per set, along with 232 digs (2.09 per set) and 21 assists. She also earned a spot on the Honorable Mention Team. 

Molly Galaszewski, assistant coach for the Lady Cougars, has been honored as Assistant Coach of the Year. A former Lady Cougar herself, Galaszewski played as a libero from 2019 to 2023. She joined the Lady Cougar coaching staff in 2024 and is now in her second year under Head Coach, Kendra Mosher.
