Pink Strides for Breast Cancer Awareness Walk

You’re invited to support Licking County Health Department’s (LCHD) and Screening and Survivor Support’s (SASS 15th annual Pink Strides for Breast Cancer Wellness Walk event on Saturday, October 1, event beginning at 9:00 am (registration opens at 8:15 am) at LCHD, located at 675 Price Road in Newark.

Kick-off Breast Cancer Awareness Month with a family-friendly walk on the health department’s 1/2-mile paved walking trail, with local breast cancer survivor testimonials, vendors, and prizes!

Bring the family and join us to celebrate Licking County’s breast cancer survivors and bring awareness to the importance of regular screenings and mammograms.

Registration for the Pink Strides for Breast Cancer event is $20 before September 18th and guarantees a 2022 Pink Strides shirt and one raffle entry. Breast Cancer Survivor pre-registration is $15 and guarantees a 2022 Pink Strides shirt, two raffle entries, and a survivor pin. Children 12 and under are free. If a t-shirt is desired, registration is required for all participants (including children). Day-of registration is $25 and includes a Pink Strides shirt (while quantities last) and one raffle entry.

Vendors include SASS, Kindred Spirits Breast Cancer Peer Support Group, Breast and Cervical Cancer Project (BCCP), Licking Memorial Health Systems, The Turban Project, Lower Lights Christian Health Center, Family Health Services and Velvet Ice Cream–which will be handing out ice cream after the walk.

Pink Strides for Breast Cancer Event Schedule
8:15 am: Event registration opens at the Licking County Health Department (675 Price Rd, Newark) along with informational tables.
9:00 am: Licking County Health Commissioner, Chad Brown, and SASS For Breast Cancer Coordinator, Ashley See, welcome attendees and introduce the featured speakers.
9:10 am: The Pink Strides featured speakers will talk about their experience as Breast Cancer survivors and the importance of regular screenings.
9:20 am: Attendees begin their 1-mile walk around the LCHD paved walking path (two laps = 1-mile).
10:00 am: Raffle prize winners are announced, Velvet Ice Cream will provide ice cream sandwiches to participants along with refreshments from Licking Memorial health Systems.
