NEWARK, OHIO – On August 1, 2024, Austyn M. Mays, 27 of Newark made several social media
posts claiming to have committed sexual abuse to an unknown juvenile, and other disturbing comments. Mays’ activity and behavior was in violation of his terms of probation, leading to his subsequent arrest.
The comments and posts that Mays has made are being investigated by Detectives with the Newark Division of Police to determine their validity. Anyone with additional information on this case, please contact the Newark Division of Police Detective Bureau.
