Harmony Township – The Mt. Gilead Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is
investigating a one-vehicle fatal crash that occurred on July 26 th , 2024 at
approximately 4:44 a.m. on Township Road 232 near County Road 26 in Harmony
Township, Morrow County.
Jack M. Allen, age 19, of Cardington, Ohio, was operating a 2007 Ford Focus
westbound on Township Road 232. Mr. Allen drove off the left side of the roadway
and overturned into a creek.
Mr. Allen was pronounced deceased on scene by medical personnel. The passenger
in the vehicle Christopher W. Bailey, age 19, of Cardington, Ohio, was transported
with life-threatening injuries to Morrow County Hospital. Seat belts were not being
used at the time of the crash. Alcohol/drugs are suspected factors.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol was assisted on scene by Morrow County EMS,
Cardington Fire Department, Marengo Fire Department, and Morrow County
Coroner’s Office. The crash remains under investigation.
