Early Voting Gets Strong Start in Knox County Ahead of November Election

Early in-person voting is underway in Knox County, and local election officials reported a strong turnout on the first day ahead of Ohio’s November 3 general election.

Knox County Board of Elections Director James Blazer said 384 voters cast ballots on Tuesday, October 6, the first day of early voting. Blazer described the turnout as strong for a gubernatorial election year, noting that the pace was about two-thirds of what he experienced on the first day of voting during the previous presidential election.

Early voting is available at the Knox County Board of Elections, located at 104 East Sugar Street in Mount Vernon. Any registered voter may cast a ballot at the early voting center.

Voting hours are generally 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekdays through October 23. Additional evening and weekend hours are scheduled as Election Day approaches.

The schedule includes voting from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, October 24, followed by extended weekday hours beginning October 26. Early voting also will be available Sunday, November 1, from 1 to 5 p.m.

Election Day is Tuesday, November 3. Polls will be open from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Voters can find the complete early voting schedule and additional election information through the Knox County Board of Elections website at boe.ohio.gov/knox.

Officials encourage voters to review their ballot and confirm their polling information before heading to the polls.
