BROWN ANNOUNCES $500,000 FOR RURAL DEVELOPMENT IN KNOX COUNTY

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, U.S. Senator Sherrod Brown (D-OH) announced the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) Community Facilities Direct Loans and Grants program has awarded a $500,000 grant to Ohio Eastern Star Home, an independent senior living community in Knox County. The investment will support the construction of new facilities and the renovation of their existing facility.

This federal funding will help bolster economic growth,” said Brown. “My office and I will continue working with community partners to ensure that Knox County gets its fair share of support and investment.”

USDA’s Community Facilities Direct Loan and Grant program offers loan guarantees to lenders for loans to rural businesses. The program improves the economic health of rural communities by increasing access to business capital through loan guarantees.
