Mount Vernon, OH – July 23, 2025 – The Area Development Foundation (ADF) is proud to announce the promotion of Julia Suggs to the role of Vice President, effective June 2, 2025. Suggs previously served as ADF’s Economic Development Manager, where she led a range of high-impact initiatives aimed at strengthening Knox County’s workforce and business environment.
With a strong background in manufacturing and an MBA in Logistics from Mount Vernon Nazarene University, Suggs has applied her industry experience and strategic insight to support the county’s key industries. She chairs the countywide WorkDev group, leading collaborative efforts between schools and employers that have served over 1,000 students through hands-on career programming. Suggs has also improved ADF’s business retention and expansion efforts through advanced data tools and better business resources. She now chairs the Knox County Business Advisory Council, aligning education with workforce needs, and was named the 2023 Economic Development Rookie of the Year by the Ohio Economic Development Association. Suggs is a frequent speaker at state conferences and regularly represents Knox County in regional forums, promoting economic growth and workforce development strategies across Ohio.
