Mount Vernon’s Richards, Weber named Player of the Year and Coach of the Year in High School Football

Prior to Week 10 of High School Football the staff of WQIO has selected this year’s Super Q All Star teams and Player and Coach of the Year. This year’s player of the year is Mount Vernon Quarterback Mason Richards. Richards has the Jackets at 6-3 on the season and with a chance to claim a share of the conference title with a win and a loss by Licking Valley Friday Night. He has totaled 1,249 yards rushing and 19 rushing touchdowns and 696 yards passing with 10 passing touchdowns this season.

Weber has the Jackets on the cusp of their first playoff berth since 2020 and first besides COVID year since 1993. The Jackets will take on Granville at home on Friday Night.
