WQIO Ohio's Super Station
On July 25, 2024, at approximately 8:49 am, Licking County Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched to State Route 16 eastbound near milepost 30 regarding a deceased person.
Deputies arrived and located 49-year-old Randall Thomas of Nashport deceased. The Licking County Sheriff’s Office Accident Investigation Unit and Detectives responded and investigated the scene.
Randall Thomas was walking eastbound alongside SR 16 outside the traffic way, carrying a flashlight on July 24, 2024, when he was struck by a vehicle also traveling eastbound on SR 16. The vehicle then left the scene.
The vehicle and driver have been located. This case remains under investigation.
