COLUMBUS MAN PLEADS GUILTY TO MURDER, AGGRAVATED ROBBERY, AND ENGAGING IN A PATTERN OF CORRUPT ACTIVITY

Darius Wynn, 28, of Columbus pleaded guilty Thursday to murder (an unclassified felony), aggravated robbery (a felony of the first degree), engaging in a pattern of corrupt activity (a felony of the first degree) and two firearm specifications. Sentencing is set for Wednesday, August 28 at 8:30 AM. He faces a maximum penalty of life in prison with parole eligibility after 41 years.

Columbus Police Detective Jacqueline Brandt and many other CPD officers led an investigation that culminated in identifying Wynn who was involved in a string of robberies during the summer of 2023 in Franklin and Delaware counties. The investigation demonstrated these were not random acts of violence, but rather targeted attacks on multiple Auto Zone’s and other businesses in central Ohio. Alejandro Fajardo-Torres was shot and killed during one of the robbery attempts at an Auto Zone in Delaware County and another victim was shot and paralyzed while leaving his place of business on the northeast side of Columbus.
