GAMBIER, Ohio — The Kenyon College football program continues to round out its 2023 coaching staff as Head Coach Ian Good announced that Nate Wilson has joined the Owls as an assistant coach.
Wilson comes to Kenyon from nearby Capital University, a fellow NCAA Division III institution, where he coached running backs and tight ends over the 2022 season. While he will work specifically with quarterbacks at Kenyon, Wilson has experience coaching numerous position groups on both sides of the ball. He has coached quarterbacks, running backs, tight ends, and wide receivers on offense and the defensive line and backfield on the other end. He served as the offensive coordinator and coached quarterbacks and running backs at Madonna University, an NAIA institution in Livonia, Michigan, during the 2021-22 season, the school’s first football season. Over the 2019-20 season, Wilson was the defensive backs coach at his alma mater, Bluefield College, an NAIA institution in Bluefield, Virginia.
With a coaching resume that spans nearly 20 years, Wilson has been a member of high school, NAIA, Division II, and Division III institutions over his career. His experience began in 2005 and includes multiple stints in West Virginia with stops in California, Missouri, and North Carolina.
As a coach, Wilson has recruited and developed multiple all-conference athletes, overseen multiple record-setting players and teams, and has coached three players who made it to the National Football League.
Wilson was a quarterback at Fresno City College and Concord University in his playing days. He received a bachelor’s degree in organizational leadership and management from Bluefield and a master’s in recreation and sport sciences from Ohio University.
