The Loudonville Lady Redbirds came to play and crushed Lexington in a 71-32 win Tuesday at home in their first game of the season. They were led by Ashland University Commit Corri Vermilya who totaled 30 points to go along with 12 rebounds. Vermilya is reigning Division Three Player of the Year and was a finalist for Ms. Basketball last year in her Junior season.

The Lady Redbirds led 42-15 at half and 60-25 at the end of the three in the win. Sophia Spangler and Jena Gulliams added 12 points a piece and Mya Vermilya scored 11 points for Tyler Bates group. The Lady Redbirds assisted 14 times of 26 made field goals in the game.
Loudonville finished 17-7 last year and won the Mid Buckeye Conference. Bates said before the season:
“We hope to win another Mid-Buckeye Conference championship this winter. We appreciate the schools in our league who allowed us to get out of contracts and find some non-league games that may be more competitive for us.”
The Lady Redbirds will play the KMAC Champs + District Runner-Up Mount Gilead on Saturday in The Cage at LHS.
