NFHCA names Lane to All-Region Team

GENEVA, N.Y. — The National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) announced Wednesday that Kenyon College junior Grace Lane was one of just 32 student-athletes selected to the 2023 All-Region VI Team.
This year, about 190 NCAA Division III student-athletes were named to NFHCA Division III All-Region teams sponsored by The LineUp. The teams were separated into six regions, with each region recognizing up to 16 student-athletes on both first and second teams.

Lane, selected to the second team, became Kenyon’s first All-Region pick since Sarah Metzmaier in 2021, but also the fifth Kenyon representative over the last five playing seasons.

Throughout the 2023 campaign, Lane, a junior forward, led the Owls in every offensive statistical category. She played all 18 games and racked up 36 points on 15 goals and six assists. She also led the team in shots (84), shots on goal (46) and game-winning goals (5).

Lane’s point total ranked tied for the fourth best in program history and her goal total ranked tied for seventh best. Those same two outputs also ranked tops among all players in the North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC).

At the end of the season, and prior to her All-Region honor, Lane was named both a first-team All-NCAC selection and the 2023 NCAC Offensive Player of the Year after helping steer the Owls to a 10-8 overall record and a 6-4 mark in conference competition.

With three collegiate playing seasons completed, Lane logged time in 52 games for Kenyon and recorded career numbers that include 22 goals, eight assists and 52 points.
