Delaware County: Construction Update

The following construction projects are anticipated to affect highways in Delaware County. State Route 605

CONTINUING IMPACTS

  • The intersection of SR 605 and Fancher Rd. will close starting Monday, May 13 for 40 days for roundabout construction.
    • SR 605 detour: SR 605 to SR 37 to U.S. 62 to SR 605 or reverse.
    • Fancher Rd. detour: Fancher Rd. to Schleppi Rd. to Walnut St. to Hoover Rd. or reverse.

U.S. Route 36/State Route 37

CONTINUING IMPACTS

  • North Galena Rd. at U.S. 36/SR 37 will close starting Tuesday, March 5th for 100 days for intersection improvements.
    • Detour: Wilson Rd. to U.S. 36/SR 37
  • Starting March 4 there will be a new traffic pattern in place on U.S. 36/SR 37 at the I-71 interchange for reconstruction of the bridge over I-71.
    • Left turns from U.S. 36/SR 37 to the I-71 on-ramps are restricted
    • Temporary RCUT lanes will be in use at Wilson Road and in front of McDonald’s for U.S. 36 traffic seeking access to the I-71 on-ramps
    • U.S. 36 Westbound will be reduced to two lanes
    • U.S. 36 Eastbound will be reduced to one lane
    • Turning movements for traffic on the I-71 off-ramps will be maintained
  • U.S. 36/SR 37 is reduced to one lane in each direction between the railroad bridge and Sky View Lane/Glenview Commons. Eastbound traffic will be shifted north, with both directions of traffic maintained in the existing westbound lanes. This traffic pattern will remain in place through Spring 2024.
    • Access to driveways and property will be maintained, however left turns will be restricted for driveways as well as Bowtown Road traffic during peak travel times (7 AM – 9 AM, 4 PM – 6 PM). Left turns at SR 521 will be maintained throughout the phase.

To help ensure the safety of the construction workers as well as the traveling public, motorists should remain alert, reduce their speed, and watch for stopped traffic while passing through the work zone. Remember, move over or slow down.
